California, complete at the county level

All 33 Area Agencies on Aging, covering all 58 counties, verified 28 July 2026 against the California Department of Aging. That means every California household gets a real, verified local phone number for a public agency whose job is this, whatever else we do or do not have for their county.

211 coverage was verified 29 July 2026. Two counties, Modoc and Sierra, have no 211 service at all. That is recorded as a verified absence rather than left blank, because a blank looks like an oversight and an absence is a finding. Both still get their Area Agency on Aging.

California, incomplete below that

Meals, transport, respite, home repair and the long tail of local organisations are researched county by county and are nowhere near finished. Some counties are well covered. Many have only the backbone.

When we have nothing for a county, the result says we have not researched it yet. It does not say there is no help there. Those are statements about two different things and only one of them is ours to make.

Outside California

The check still runs and still returns the federal programmes that apply everywhere, but we have not verified local organisations in other states and we will say so rather than showing you something we have not checked.

Other states are added when families ask for them, which we count anonymously on every check. Nothing else decides the order.

Why not just launch nationally

Because the product is the verification, not the list. A national database of unverified listings is the thing families already have, and it is the reason they are exhausted. Covering one state properly is worth more than covering fifty badly, and it is the only version of this that can honestly show a date next to every claim.
